The list of players who've had reasonable careers that have been completely overshadowed by the football achievements of more celebrated family members is long and unimpressive: Darren Ferguson, Jordi Cruyff, Nigel Clough and, erm, Terry Yorath.

Will we soon add Kolo Touré's name to that scroll? Alex Ferguson certainly hopes so: because word is he's on the trail of the Ivorian's younger brother Yaya, yet another product of the football factory that is ASEC Abidjan and currently on the books of Olympiakos. Kolo says the 22-year-old midfielder is "better than me", which begs the obvious question then: "Are you really going to let Fergie pinch him ahead of Arsène Wenger?"

Possibly even more galling to Wenger are reports that, preposterously, Patrick Vieira is already unhappy at Juventus and would not be averse to switching to ... Manchester United. However, the prospects of that ever coming to pass are approximately the same as TV's Tony Hart taking over as England boss and appointing the recently-deceased Morph as his right-hand man. That's because Fergie would prefer to sign 22-year-old Cameroonian midfielder Jean Makoun, who wouldn't come cheap, what with being under contract at Lille until 2010.

Meanwhile, forget La Manga and Ayia Napa, Scotland has become the new destination of choice for Premiership managers. Steve McClaren's scouts are skulking around Glasgow, casting admiring glances at Peter Lovenkrands, while Mick McCarthy, Graeme Souness, David Moyes and Chris Coleman have also dispatched snoops to Edinburgh to eye up Hearts centre-back Andy Webster.

Alan Pardew, meanwhile, may be igniting a fat cigar as we speak, safe in the knowledge that he's to be offered a contract that will keep him at Upton Park till 2010. Or ensure he gets a hefty pay-off to accompany any eventual boot.

Google-watchers glimpse new classified service

ONLINE search giant Google admitted it is moving into classified advertising after unwittingkey giving users a sneak preview of the new service. It would be a threat to newspapers , which have already seen classified revenues squeezed by sites such as Craigslist.The service, Google Base, appeared briefly as a link to a website inviting people to list things such as cars for sale.

The iHome?

Is this the headless Mac we’ve been hearing about? Every Macworld there’s always a bunch of hoaxsters who think they’ll get their kicks pranking the Mac community with fake pics of some hot new product that is rumored to be coming out.

We can’t vouch for the authenticity of these, but a bunch of pics showing the “iHome Media Center” being removed from its box. If it’s legit (and again, we still don’t know this for sure), then what we’re looking at is a small-form factor Mac with a slot-loading optical drive and a bunch of ports around back.

This is the Yeo Coat of Arms and the other arms the main family were allowed to quarter in the 1500's. These arms then passed on into the Rolle family, when Margaret, the daughter of Robert Yeo and Mary Fortescue married Henry Rolle

Paffett handed McLaren test drive

Gary Paffett will get a chance to test a McLaren-Mercedes Formula One car after his DTM title win.

The Bromley-born driver, 24, took the German touring car crown with third place at Hockenheim last weekend.
Paffett tested for McLaren in 2002 and 2003 but was unable to find a race seat and tried his luck at DTM instead.
He said: "It is a step closer to Formula One, which is where I want to be eventually. But it looks like I'll be defending my DTM title next year."

Irate iPod nano users have filed a lawsuit against Apple alleging that the firm launched the product knowing the screen of the credit card-sized music player was defective.

Consumers have filed a proposed class action lawsuit in California claiming the nano scratched "excessively during normal usage" because its protective plastic resin is too thin. "

Apple concealed the defect and advised class members that they would need to purchase additional equipment to prevent the screen from scratching excessively," the complaint said.
Apple had no comment yesterday.

"Has a streaker ever scored? And would it count if they did?"

Well Jimmy, the self-proclaimed 'World's No1 Streaker,' Mark Roberts, from Liverpool, has scored at least two goals while baring all. Roberts, who has also streaked at the Super Bowl and Royal Ascot, scored in the Liverpool v Chelsea Carling Cup game at Anfield in 2000 and the 2002 Champions League final, between Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen.

At Anfield, Roberts took a pass from Gianfranco Zola before beating the entire Chelsea defence and firing past a half-hearted Ed de Goey, after hurdling the perimeter fence. His goal bonus: a magistrates court appearance and £100 fine.

In the Champions League final, at Hampden Park, he ripped off his velcro suit before stealing the ball, running past two defenders and finding the aptly-named Leverkusen keeper Hans-Jorg Butt no match for his finishing prowess.

Roberts is not the only streaker to find the back of the net. In December 1998, during an interruption in Reading's 1-0 win over Notts County, a fan ran on to the field, kissed the ground and scored past the County keeper before evading a steward and disappearing into the crowd.

These goals didn't count because they occurred during breaks in play (both of Roberts' efforts came during the half-time interval), but even if a streaker were to find the net during a game, it wouldn't count.

Law 10, The Method of Scoring, says that a goal can only be given if no infringement has been made by the team scoring the goal. A streaker would be an ineligible player; a team cannot field more than 11, so there would be no goal. And that's even before considering improper kit! The referee also has the power to stop the game if "an unauthorised person enters the field of play".

Weekend review!

Well went night fishing friday, which was cool and only the second time i have been fishing. however no one told me that you cant see shit at 3am (hightide was at 02:30) really need a torch or something so you can see. Mental note to myself go during the day!! so what did i catch ........... nothing but it was a laugh. I must say that we played poker round legs house till midnight which was good fun and we managed to drink large amounts of vodka before we went we may be the reason why we never got cold!! Got in at 5am hit me bed about 5:45 and up again at 10 am had a lazy day mostly, apart from jumping on the PC to play my favorite game football manager 2005 ( i know football manager 2006 is now out but i am waiting for it to come out on psp!!) was doing fab and got appointed to the england managers job but since then i have not done so well, just got knocked out the fa cup by manchester united in the 5th round, although I won the league cup. I am still in the european cup qtr finals but after the first leg I am trailing 4-2 so I have to pull my finger out to win that (yeah right) but I am still 2nd in the league 6 points behind MUFC. So after loosing most of the day with that we went out for a chinese meal at You's in st leonards on sea was really nice and great company with wayne & tracy and carl & nikky.

A new home for The Yeo Family

Well Addam (my brother) has put me on the right path and moved my domain name TheYeoFamily.co.uk on to a new hosting company. Watch out soon for some new pictures.

Fishing

I am off fishing tonight, night fishing to boot! I am no fisherman; in fact I have only been fishing once before off my mates (Jay) boat. This time we are going to go beach fishing but I have to say the weather is looking grim but it should be a laugh. But before that its fat Friday so I am off to the cafe with me mates Wayne, Dan and Liam. Just as well Carl dragged me to the gym last night, we done loads of cardiovascular work on the running machine the rowing machine obviously the bike everyone does the bike and on the stairs machine which took my heart rate up to 159bpm, and the back to the running machine to cool down.

Starting Out

Well its the start of a new day and its one small step for mankind and one giant leap for the little boy who lived down the lane.

If you didn't know I am the little boy who lived down the lane as the nursery rhyme goes! Well at least that's what my mum used to tell me. We used to live in Peckham Rye in south London and used to go to the shops which were called the lane, and I always believed it when my mum told me the nursery rhyme was about me!! What little boy would not believe his mum ah!! I tell you I am scared for life hahahaha any way I am wandering ..................

As I was saying one giant step for me, my first go at a website my brother tells me that the blogger is KING and so here goes no tuition no reading the instructions just jump in with 2 feet and Ave a go!! Sink or swim that's me really.
